Winter isn’t coming, it’s already here! If you haven’t taken some simple steps to protect yourself and your truck this season, there is no time like the present.
Get in the Zone
The harsh weather conditions that winter brings require you to be more aware of your surroundings than ever! Stay focused when driving so you can be as responsive as possible. Do not under any circumstances use your mobile phone while driving. Try to keep the kids engaged with books or educational phone apps so you can focus on what is most important, getting you and your passengers to your next adventure safe and sound!
Purchase Snow Chains
Depending on the snow conditions where you live, having snow chains on hand can make a huge difference in staying safe on the roads. There’s no harm in being over prepared, take our word for it and invest in a pair of snow chains, they are bound to last many a harsh winter to come. If you expect snow and ice for a good chunk of the year, it may also be worth investing in some winter tires. Should you find yourself stuck in the snow with few tools on-hand, be resourceful and put those floor mats to work! Clear as much snow as you can from your tires, put a floor mat under your stuck tire and gently roll back up onto your mat.
Cover the Basics
Addressing a few basic maintenance to-dos can help keep your truck in good working order all winter long. This is an ideal time to get your battery checked, change your oil and check the tread and pressure on your tires. Snow and sleet will also put your windshield wipers to the test. As a good rule of thumb, replacing your blades once a year is recommended.
