Your pickup may have taken a beating this winter, but it’s not likely it’s going to get a rest this summer. The difference is, you won’t be moving your pickup to move snow or haul stuck motorists out of snow banks. Instead, you’ll be towing trailers, carting supplies from the home supply store or moving furniture. The different needs for the seasons mean you may have some prep work to do to get your truck ready for summer. At Sunset Truck, we’re ready to service all your pickups needs.
Charge the Air Conditioning System
It’s going to get hot. Loading the bed of your truck and hitching up your boat trailer can be hot, sweaty work. You don’t want to stuck in the heat without an air conditioning system with powerful cooling properties. Bring you pickup to our skilled technicians for a full a/c charge to keep you cool all summer long.
Check Your Tow Hitch
Changing temperatures, salt and sand used on winter roads and age can have small impacts on your tow hitch. If it’s been a while since you last used yours, it may make sense to do a dry run of hooking up your trailer. Make sure it all fits together the way it should. You can also use the opportunity to check the trailer’s brake lights and blinkers.
Install a Bed Liner
If you don’t have one already, now is a great time to install a bed liner. When you’re hauling wood from the home supply store or moving furniture, it’s easy to scratch the paint in the bed of your truck. A properly installed bed liner covers any existing damages and protects the bed of your pickup from any additional scratches.
Our service technicians at Sunset Truck in Seattle stand ready to help you with any other maintenance you need to get your pickup in perfect working order for all your summer adventures.
